The USC-Huntington Early Modern Studies Institute History of Enslavement Seminar will meet with Nicole Maskiell, Associate Professor of African and African American Studies at Dartmouth, on February 5, 2027. Professor Maskiell's research focuses on the colonial history of the American northeast, and the power of the stories we tell about that part of American history. Her paper is entitled, "'Privy to this barbarous murder': Memory, Slavery, and the Violence of Ordinary People." Register to attend by January 29. All EMSI events are free and open to the public.
